At Sussex Green Living, we are looking for volunteers to join our growing team in the following roles:
- HR Trustee
- Deputy Chair
- Event Support Team
Sussex Green Living is a registered environmental charity and community network helping people across Sussex take practical action to conserve resources, restore biodiversity and choose sustainable food.
We believe that repairing things can do more than reduce waste. It can build confidence, bring people together, share knowledge across generations, create opportunities for young people and help communities become more resilient and sustainable.
As our organisation grows, we’re looking for people who share these values and would like to use their skills, experience and enthusiasm to make a positive difference.
HR Trustee
People are at the heart of everything we do.
We’re seeking someone with experience in Human Resources, recruitment, people development, learning and development, or volunteer management to help us grow and support our volunteer community.
You don’t need to be an expert in repair or sustainability. What matters most is a commitment to helping people thrive.
This role may suit you if you:
- Enjoy helping people find opportunities to flourish
- Want to use your professional skills for a meaningful cause
- Believe strong communities are built on connection and inclusion
Deputy Chair
We’re also looking for a compassionate and committed Deputy Chair to help guide the next stage of our journey.
We’re interested in people who:
- Care about people, communities and sustainability
- Can contribute strategic thinking and encouragement
- Want to help shape an organisation creating social and environmental impact
Experience in charity governance, education, business, community development or sustainability, would be valuable.
Event Support Team
Our repair café in Horsham and community events across Sussex rely on friendly volunteers who help create a welcoming atmosphere.
You’ll help set up and pack away events, welcome visitors, chat with members of the public and support activities throughout the day.
No technical repair skills are required—just a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and an interest in bringing people together.
