PRESS RELEASE:

What does a 1974 milk float, 7 tonne lorry, a group of inspiring environmentalists

and World Environment Day 5th June have in common?

They are all part of the Bright New Future Roadshow which launched at Amberley Museum on World Environment Day 5th June. This inspiring climate education project is being led by Sussex Green Living a West Sussex based charity who purchased the milkfloat with the help of a Horsham District Council Community Climate Grant and a grant from Sussex Community Foundation. The float has been retrofitted with the help of creative volunteers to create the Sussex Green Living Inspiration Eco Station. The 7 tonne lorry is beautifully painted with the history to the evolution of planet Earth and doubles up as a mobile woodland stage, woven together with a mix of music, song and dance people learn and about the inspiring solutions to create a bright new future. The roadshow crew are a mix of passionate environmentalists ranging from 13 to 60 from Sussex Green Living, Movingsounds, the School Mobile Theatre Project and Nicola Peel, supported by other volunteers.

Sussex Green Living with the help of many volunteers also run the Horsham Repair Cafe, they popped up a stall to signpost people to the many repair cafes in West Sussex and selling stunning merchandise made with love by their creative volunteers.

The High Sheriff of West Sussex and Councillor Deborah Urquhart Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change both visited the inaugural roadshow, these videos show what they made of the float and roadshow
