Sussex Family Fun Day in Recycling Week
We are holding a second Sussex Green Living (SGL) family fun day at the end of Recycling Week on Saturday 23rd June 10.30am – 2pm. It is taking place in green gardens, fields and the SGL Green Den near Billingshurst.
Activities will include:
- Decorating nature masks made out of recycled materials.
- Painting yoghurt pots, then plant it/them up with flowers which will attract wildlife into your garden or herbs to eat. Soil and seeds provided.
- Making robots and treasures out of trash/treasure!
- Making bird feeders out of Tetra Paks (fruit juice cartons).
- Play 10 tin bowling (using steel cans for bowling).
- Meet Harry, Georgia, Cookie and Adam the chickens. Bramble the dog and Billy the horse.
- Bouncy castle, trampolining, tree climbing.
- Lots of outdoor games.
- Recycling treasure hunt – where the children learn about recycling in a fun and competitive way. They will help Pedro, the SGL South American Tree Frog clear up rubbish (we call it treasure) and find little Pedro’s hiding in the treasure.
Come face painted or have your face painted, by an beginner!
All you will need to do is bring the family, a picnic (weather permitting to eat outdoors) and enjoy yourselves.
Dress code: Recycled/upcycled dress/clothes! Or summer gear if the children are not keen on fancy dress!
