Earthworm Watch needs you!
Earthworm Watch is a great opportunity to get actively involved in a UK wide science project. You will learn more about nature on your doorstep, and enjoy doing something different outdoors.
The humble earthworm may lack the beauty of other invertebrates such as butterflies or ladybirds but their daily work is vital. Earthworms keep soil healthy, help prevent carbon release into the atmosphere, and their tunnels help prevent flooding.
Despite their importance, we don’t know enough about earthworms and soils. By joining this project, you will shine a light under the earth’s surface to help us understand how human activities are affecting soils and earthworms in green spaces. Learn more here.
We want you, the people of Sussex, to take some ownership of www.sussexgreenliving.co.uk. Forward your suggestions for events, videos, parks and green spaces etc to be added to “your” site.
