Remake, redesign & repair creative craft textile workshop 2017

February 24, 2017/in Events, Green art & games/by Carrie Cort

Creative remaking workshops

Come and learn about an exciting new fashion trend and walk away with a revived, reinvented and reinvigorated wardrobe!  Our creative material workshops specialise in re-using stunning neckties in an amazing range of projects (other materials are available too). We are all about re-using, re-making, redesigning and making do with what we already have, or you are welcome to bring your own chosen material. Our aim is to help the environment and save you money!

Whether you are a total beginner or sewing is already a long term passion, this class caters for all abilities. Our workshops enable students to learn at their own pace; you can come with your own ideas or be inspired by our expert creative necktie upcyclers. You can make something using a sewing machine, or a hand sewn project, alternatively there are some ‘no sew’ ideas too. Crafts range from beautiful hair clips, phone covers, handbags and bunting to something a little more complex such as dresses and waistcoats – made out of neckties,  examples can be seen here. If you have got a sewing machine bring it along, if you haven’t got one you can use ours free of charge: just let us know on booking. Ideas for hand sewn and no sew projects also available.

On 3rd July 2016 we ran a Creative necktie upcycling taster workshop at the Kinder Living Show in the Drill Hall, Horsham. Learn more here.

You’ll meet like minded people at our relaxed and friendly workshops, enjoy a slice of cake and a drink, and make some new friends!

These workshops are designed and delivered by a creative group brought together by Sussex Green Living who want to inspire people to re-make and re-use unwanted materials and create new clothes and accessories.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Full payment is due upon booking your place on the class. For cancellations with less than 2 working days (48 hours) notice, no refund will be given. For cancellations with between 2 and 7 working days notice, 50% will be refundable. More than 7 days notice then full refund will be given if we can sell the space on the course. Sussex Green Living reserve the right to cancel a workshop. In such cases, a full refund will be issued. NOTE: Please be advised that a course requires a minimum of three people booked onto it for it to run.  A decision will be taken 3-5 days before the class as to whether there are sufficient bookings for it to go ahead and you will be advised at that time if it is to be cancelled.  If so a full refund will be issued, or you can transfer to a future

*Horsham Quakers have been worshipping on the Worthing road site for over 300 years, although the current Grade 2 listed building dates from the 1780′s. It is home to Quakers in Horsham, and is also a busy community building hosting a variety of local groups and organisations seven days a week.
